War between Northern Wei and Baekje

From 304 to 439 A.D., 16 countries rose and collapsed from each other in northern China, and the chaos of relocation pitches continued. Finally, at the end of this chaotic period, a powerful dynasty was born that unified northern China, a country called Bukwi founded by the Takbal scholars. The Northern Wei conquered the northern part of China by subduing several northern nomadic countries that existed in northern China until 439, when there was a small kingdom called Namje in southern China. In addition, the autonomous Baekje Army, which Baekje colonized, was established in Shandong Province and Habuk Province. In 435, King Jangsu of Goguryeo removed King Punghong, who had fled to China, at the request of the Wei Dynasty, and peace with Goguryeo lasted for a long time, so there was no need to worry about the background. Moreover, at that time, Northern Wei and Goguryeo formed the Northern Alliance, while Baekje, Namje, and Japanese formed the Southern Alliance, respectively. Under these circumstances, in 488, the Northern Wei invaded the Baekje colonial territory of the Jungwon Continent, and Baekje and Namje formed a coalition to repel the invasion forces of the Northern Wei. "The Northern Wei sent troops to attack Baekje, but was defeated by Baekje. Baekje has occupied the second division of Yoseo and Jinpyeong since the Qin Dynasty. By referring to the Baekje colony inside China by Yoseo and Jinpyeong 2nd Army, it was clear that the place where the North Wei had attacked was Baekje colony in Habukseong district. "In the 10th year of King Dongseong's reign, Wei sent soldiers to attack us, but they were defeated by us." (Three Kingdoms History of Baekje) In mainland China, various ethnic groups have invaded and engaged in tangled historical activities since ancient times. King Dongseong, the 24th king of Baekje, ended the first war against the Northern Wei in 488 and took the following personnel measures to notify Namje. "General Gunwi's Gwangyang Taesu and Jangsa, Godal, was General Yongyang Taesu's Daebang Taesu, General Gunwi's Joseon Taesu's Gunwi's General Yangmu's "Gwangneung Taesu" and General Sunwi's General."[Namjeseo 58 volumes, Dongnamjeon Baekje Gukjo] This record was included in the diplomatic documents sent by Baekje to Namje and was recorded in Namje's historical book and handed down today. Daebanggun, where Daebangtaesu was appointed, refers to Daebanggoji, the ancient land of Baekje, that is, this is Oebaekje. Gwangyang-gun refers to the area near the downstream entrance of Yangtze River. Gwangyang-gun is a Sanggok region located in northeastern Beijing. Cheonghae is now the Imneun and Changeup regions of the Shandong Peninsula. In other words, he promoted the ranks of the armed men who established distinguished services in the war against the Wei Dynasty and appointed them as Taesu of Baekje's territory on the Jungwon continent for their contribution.  Wei, who was defeated by Baekje and Namje Allied Forces in 488, felt a great threat to the Allied counterattack that began in New Year's Day in 489, and in August of that year, Gojo's envoy Hyeongsan and Hu Yeongso were sent to Namje's Sejo and Sosaek. The Northern Wei's request for peace against Namje was a preparation to drive out Baekje forces in the Habukseong district. Now, Gojo of the Northern Wei, who judged that the alliance between Baekje and Namje had collapsed, has mobilized hundreds of thousands of troops to attack Baekje forces in Habukseong. 58 volumes of Namjeseo record the situation at that time as follows. "At this time, the Orangkae of the Wei Dynasty (and) fired hundreds of thousands of cavalry and attacked Baekje and entered the precincts. King Baekje's "Moda" dispatched the general judicial name, Chansuryu, Haeryegon, and Mokganna. They led the Baekje army and attacked the Orangkae soldiers of the Wei Dynasty and defeated them."(時歲 魏虜又發騎數十萬, 攻百濟入其界, 牟大遣將沙法名, 贊首流, 解禮昆, 木干那. Dr. Kim Sang-ki said, "About Baekje's Yoseogyeong," In the third book of Baeksan Hakbo, the invasion of Wei in 490 is believed to be against the Yoseo area in the continent of Baekje. The war situation in 490 is also described in the diplomatic documents of 495 sent by Baekje to the South. "In the last five years, the Northern Wei came in with no war, and God sent a judicial name, led the army, and struck back in the night like lightning, and the Murderer panicked and collapsed, chasing the fleeing enemy. His body was covered in the field and his blood turned red."" 由是嶊銳氣, 鯨暴韜凶, 今邦宇謐靜.} This record distorts that King Dongseong of Baekje gave a new name to the king of Namje, a small kingdom with only 24 years of life, by the arrogant handwriting of Chinese historians under the Chunchu Pilbeop, and it is certainly an honor of Baekje. Since King Sejo's pro-government policy is different from the previous foreign policy of the South Korean regime, it quickly sparked a lot of opposition in the country.  When King Sejo died in 492, his son, So So-eop, succeeded the throne, but 11 months after his enthronement, Soran, King So-eop's younger brother, So-so-eop, was established as King So-eop, and three months later, he became King So-eop. The Gojo of the Northern Wei, who lost the war in 490 and was defeated by Baekje's forces, moved the capital from Pyeongseong to Nakyang, far from Baekje's continental colony (493). Here, Pyeongseong refers to Daedong-si, Sanseo Province, west of Takrok, and also did not cross the Taehaeng Mountains. It was transferred by advancing southward to Nakyang along the Taewon Basin. The Sandong Peninsula and Jenam area occupied by Baekje will be held by Baekje for more than 70 years until the regiment of Bukje. Wei, who moved the capital to Nakyang and reorganized the battle line, requisitioned a large army in December 494 and divided the units of General Jeongnam Seoljindo, General Yuchang, Seojusa Temple Wonyeon, and General Pyeongnam Yujo into four directions. In Namje-gun, about 3,000 county residents, including Dongman, a lord's own company, became prisoners of the Northern Wei army. The Northern Wei army, which gained momentum, even appeared in "Jong-ri," a battle area where Emperor Gojo directly fought, two months after the opening of the war. However, due to the counterattack of the Baekje Horseback Corps, the situation was reversed, and Gojo was driven away from Jong-ri under the guard of the SS, and Pungtan, a general of the Northern Wei, was killed, and eventually the Northern Wei army retreated. After that, the Northern Wei again mobilized 200,000 troops to attack Baekje and Namje in 497, but failed, and in 498, it started another war, but was also defeated by the Baekje and Namje Allied Forces. The Northern Wei, which fought as many as five major wars in 10 years from 488 to 498, completely lost the Jenam and Reclaimed Areas to Baekje and Namje, resulting in financial bankruptcy, and eventually reduced all expenses of the royal family and court by half and reduced 1/3 of the Guard.{魏書 卷7 高祖紀下 太和22年紀 '后之私府 便可損半 六宮嬪御 五服男女 常恤恒供 亦令減半 在戎之親 三分省一'} However, the war between Baekje and Northern Wei did not weaken only the defeated country, Northern Wei. The long war of conquest led to the development of salt fields within Baekje. The young hero, Dong Seong, was full of pride as he was defeated five times in 10 years by North Wei, China's strongest power of the time. Therefore, in 500 years, he built a luxurious new palace called Imryugak, which was over five lengths high, dug a pond in the palace, raised strange birds, and lived drunk on beautiful women. The late Lim Seung-guk, a former professor at Myongji University, claimed that the tomb of King Dongseong of Baekje is located in Cheongdo, Shandong Province. Accordingly, it is estimated that the location of the impregnation angle is also in Shandong Province. As this happened, the indigenous Ho people of Gomnaru, including Baekga, Wisa Jwapyeong and Karim Seongju, begged King Dongseong to be faithful to the internal affairs, but rather, it provoked the anger of King Dongseong, who was immersed in the luxurious life of Imryugak. Then, Baekga conspired to kill Dongseong the Great in December 501. As a result, King Dongseong of Baekje, a powerful country in Northeast Asia that dominated the east coast of China and expanded its power in the Jungwon continent, will end after 23 years of reign at the age of 37.
