A cultural war seen through loot cultural properties.

Recently, the issue of Goryeo discord has become an issue. Of course, it is not accurate whether the Buddhist painting is a loot cultural property or not (according to the original Japanese temple, it is argued that the Goryeo Buddhist painting was brought by a temple builder created by Silla). Of course, there are many problems with this argument. The problem is that the Buddhist painting brought about by the Silla people is not just whether the Buddhist painting is a loot cultural property, but in the question of returning cultural properties looted by Japan and France from ancient times to the present. The problem of loot cultural properties is not just ours. Internationally, countries that have looted numerous cultural properties such as Egypt and Greece in the imperialist era have been trying to solve them as diplomatic issues. With these efforts, Germany has returned some cultural properties to Egypt, but this is only a few. If you have traveled to Europe, you will be able to see Obelisk standing tall on the streets of Italy, France, and England. Standing dignified on the main streets of Rome, Paris, London, and New York, this relic is a relic of mankind to commemorate the ancient Egyptian pharaoh. Destroying this, imperialist countries looted it with spoils with their ornaments. This is not the only thing. Glorious relics, such as various temples in Egypt and various ruins in Mesopotamia, were looted as museums and universities of the great powers in collective form. The relics are like this, but is it worth mentioning? Then why are imperialist countries, so-called powers, bent on having other countries, civilization ruins, and relics as their own? This is because such cultural properties are not just relics of the past, but materials that create the future. Give me an example. Ancient Rome and modern America are one of the best empires in history. However, there is a difference between the two. Rome was subordinate to ancient Greek culture, while the United States early realized that military power alone could not dominate the world, so it researched and created various ways to dominate the modern culture and now created the formula "American culture = world culture." To create this American culture, the United States began to buy artworks from Europe and around the world after World War II. The Guggenheim Museum in New York, USA, contains all such American efforts. And the United States created the most American culture in it and exported it in military and economic power.  Eventually, they succeeded, and finally the mecca of world culture was moved from Paris to New York. This is why imperialist countries, so-called powers, are blushing at the remains and relics of the world. This is why they spare so much investment in history, thought, and philosophy around the world. In this situation, what should we prepare...This will be an important factor in determining our future. ==================================================== Post an article. ---------------------------------------------------- 100,000 points for looting cultural properties.Correspondent Kang Il-jung of MacArthur's opposition to the return (New York = Yonhap News), Japan looted at least 100,000 cultural properties throughout the Korean Peninsula from the end of the 19th century to the defeat of World War II, but the return is far away, according to Time, a U.S. weekly newspaper. Time also revealed in the records of the U.S. Archives that General Douglas MacArthur, the commander of the Japanese occupational forces, opposed the return of loot cultural properties due to political considerations shortly after the end of World War II. Time Asia's latest issue (February 4) pointed out that Japanese looters and government archaeologists dug up the tombs of kings and queens during the Japanese colonial period and plundered relics such as gold crafts, jade decorations, celadon, stone sculptures, and pagodas, as well as tens of thousands of books from the library. Time explained that among the looted cultural properties, the most carefully selected items, such as celadon found only in the tombs of Goryeo nobles in Kaesong, were presented to the emperor. In addition, relics such as ancient ceramics and windows have disappeared into shelves and warehouses of leading Japanese universities, the magazine said. Time also introduced the testimony of Hwang Soo-young (83), an employee of the National Museum of Korea, who visited the robbery site in Kaesong shortly after liberation. Hwang recalled, "I saw the ancient tomb dug empty," adding, "People approached me and said, 'They threatened with guns and dug into the graves of my ancestors." After World War II, governments and museums in the West are making every effort to return cultural properties looted by the Nazis, but the magazine pointed out that such efforts are relatively weak in Asia's old colony of Japanese Imperialism, especially in Korea. Time pointed out that, in particular, discussions on gold bars looted and concealed by Japan are divided, but there are few serious studies on looted cultural properties and artworks. Time said political considerations played a role in the covered issue of looting Japanese cultural properties, and it was General MacArthur, the commander of the Japanese occupational forces, who opposed looting cultural properties. According to a 1948 transcript of General MacArthur's radio speech discovered by the magazine at the U.S. National Archives, General MacArthur said, "I strongly opposed even a minority opinion on the return of lost or destroyed cultural properties as a result of military action and integrity." General MacArthur explained his opposition, saying, "There is a concern that the issue of returning cultural properties will worsen Japanese feelings toward us, make Japan vulnerable to ideological pressure, and provide soil suitable for subversive behavior."
