Another opinion on King Mobon of Goguryeo.

King Movon is the first son of King Daemushin, the third king of Goguryeo, and his name was Haewoo. (or Haeeru) He was appointed as the crown prince in December 32. After that, King Daemushin died in October AD 44, but he was unable to ascend to the throne due to his youngness. He seems to have had a lot of difficulties in the process of rebuking the prince. King Movon's mother was the maintenance of King Daemushin, but she could not give birth to a son. Therefore, King Daemushin welcomes the granddaughter of King Galsa as a concubine. Unlike the first queen, the second queen gave birth to a son shortly after entering the palace. He was Prince Hodong. Prince Hodong became famous in neighboring countries as he grew up intelligently from an early age. With Prince Hodong gaining fame and gathering public sentiment, King Movon will be born later than Prince Hodong (He was born much later than Prince Hodong in the Samguksagi, but he records King Movon as the first son. This seems to be because King Movon was the enemy of King Daemushin and later succeeded the throne.) When King Movon was still a young child, Prince Hodong was already married to the princess of Nakranguk and dreamed of conquering Nakrang. As all situations lean toward Prince Hodong rather than King Movon, who is an enemy, his mother, Queen 1, appears at the center of a fierce battle for her son's succession to the throne on behalf of King Movon, who is still young. Queen Hodong is highly likely to be proclaimed as a prince, so I beg the king by saying that Queen Hodong tried to humiliate her mother and even show swear words to gain an upper hand in the battle for vested interests with Prince Hodong. At first, King Daemushin did not believe it, but at the persistent request of the Queen, Prince Hodong gradually became suspicious, and Prince Hodong committed suicide claiming his innocence. This was the moment when King Movon's biggest rival was removed, and when King Movon was sealed to the crown prince. Runa... It seems that King Daemusin regretted a lot after the death of Prince Hodong. It is estimated that King Mobon was 13-14 years old when King Daemushin died, but because he was young, King Minjung, the younger brother of King Daemushin, was crowned. What is unclear here is that King Daemushin was 15 years old when he was crowned, and King Taejo was sometimes crowned at the age of 7. However, the fact that he had a class to ascend because he was young makes it possible to infer that Mohu, who would be regent, died. As a result, the prince suddenly faces a life-threatening situation. The unfortunate prince who was sealed as a prince but did not succeed to the throne...From the standpoint of King Minjung, King Movon would have seemed to be a threat to the throne. So, during the four years when King Minjung was crowned, King Mobon must have felt a lot of death threats. However, fortunately, he survived and ascended to the throne. At the beginning of the throne, he mobilized large troops in February 49 AD to attack and occupy Han's Bukpyeong, Eoyang, Sanggok, and Taewon, conquered the Yoseo area shortly after he was crowned, and achieved some remarkable results in territorial expansion. But after some time, Goguryeo had floods, frost, hail, etc.An abnormal climate occurs. (In Sohae's opinion, this point was the beginning of the problem.)Until just a few hundred years ago, the change in weather in the country was due to the lack of virtue of the king! This formula was established. In such an era, I think it is natural for the people to suffer from long-term weather fluctuations and disperse the people's hearts.) King Mobon opens the national treasury to relieve the poor and stabilize the wandering people. However, it is natural that economic difficulties worsen due to long-term weather changes, and economic difficulties soon lead to anxiety in the situation. King Movon, who had suffered a lot since Prince Chaekbong, and spent his childhood in fear of death without being able to ascend to the throne after Prince Chaekbong, began to doubt his servants and people around him and reign as tyrants. The record of King Movon's tyranny is currently a class that can only be referred to in the History of the Three Kingdoms, but his cruel character is well shown in the History of the Three Kingdoms. As a result, the character Duro, who was favored by King Movon, was trembling with fear that he might die, and someone who saw him like that encouraged the king's murder. In the end, Duro will inflict the king. King Movon had a prince named Ik at the time, but the detailed records were up, so the way to know was upbbb. But... If you hurt the king a lot, it's half-jung or Dareum Upbbso. If it was anti-government, Duro should be at the center of power. However, during the reign of King Taejo, who succeeded the throne afterwards, Duro did not move from the center of power. If you look at this, like Sohae-do Blade-Hae, he was really afraid of death and killed the king... The political position can be viewed as a weak perpetrator, or as an assassin who has been ordered by a political group seeking the next throne. So Hae's thoughts here...I think it's closer to the former than the latter. The reason is that King Taejo, who later became a Bodhisattva, was young and his mother replaced the convergent cleanliness. However, if King Mobon was killed for the throne, it is natural that there will be noise between the outcasts or aides of King Taejo, who represents Gyerubu. However, since the start of convergence cleansing, no opposing forces have appeared against King Taejo. Of course, the appearance of foreign forces has also gone up. If there were forces that moved for the next throne, it was natural that there would be noise to occupy a stronger force, and King Taejo should have had a purge of them. Of course...After King Movon was killed by Duro, when the throne became empty, political influence would have worked to take the throne in the five tribes representing Goguryeo. I think King Taejo was crowned because Gyerubu was the influential force and support base in Goguryeo, where Gyerubu was the center from the beginning of Goguryeo's founding.I don't think the reason why King Movon's Crown Prince couldn't continue the throne is not just because he was young. He was killed in the name of losing public sentiment and using tyranny. In any era, if a king, called a tyrant, is killed, it is extremely rare to put him on a guard even if he has a son. If the person (or power) who murdered the king was for political interests, it would be more profitable to set up a scarecrow king himself, and if he simply assaulted the king with a feeling of tyranny, it would be like putting a knife around his neck.
